Think consultant Jonathan Twigger was in the United Arab Emirates in December to lead an eight-day validation activity, simulating operations at Abu Dhabi International Airport’s new Midfield-Terminal Building (MTB). The MTB accommodates 89 new stands across three distinctively shaped apron areas.
This activity focussed on assessing the Method of Operations (MOPs) which defines the new procedures and policies associated with the new infrastructure and ground markings. The Real-Time Simulation (RTS) was conducted using ADAC’s advanced 360 degree aerodrome simulator, supplied by Micro Nav.
The outputs of the simulation will contribute to updating the MOPs ahead of the controller training program and upcoming flight trial activities.
