Results from the recent validation of UDPP at Eurocontrol, led by Think ATM Consultant Katherine Cliff (on behalf of EUROCONTROL), has shown to have large reductions on the impact of delays on airlines and passengers. Constrained airspaces lead to capacity restrictions causing delays to flights which impact the operations of the airlines and impose additional costs as well as disrupting the passenger connections. UDPP allows the airlines to optimise the impact of delay where results show positive improvements in the number of successful passenger connections as a result of the airlines’ prioritisations whilst recovering 40% of the additional costs caused by the delays.
What an amazing result- as well as improving efficiencies, it will also improve levels of customer satisfaction.
